BIOGRAPHY: Dr. Mohamed Yehia Saad Abdelfattah is an academic faculty member, distinguished researcher, clinician, and
specializing in Oral Biology and Dental Medicine, with more than 20 years of academic and
clinical experience. His academic journey in learning & teaching spans renowned institutions such as Cairo University, British University
in Egypt, Al-Azhar University, Assiut University, New Giza University, Beni-Suef
University, and the University of Washington, USA. He currently working as an Associate Professor of Oral Biology, Basic Dental Sciences Department, Faculty of Dentistry, Ibn
Sina University for Medical Sciences (ISUMS). Throughout his career, he has contributed
significantly to dental education and research through teaching, clinical work, scientific
publication, and international collaboration.
Dr. Abdelfattah earned his PhD in Oral and Craniofacial Biology through a joint supervision
program between Egypt and the University of Washington (USA). His research expertise
covers oral and craniofacial biology, histological and ultrastructural analysis, tissue
culture, biotechnology, and regenerative dentistry, particularly focusing on tissue engineering
and biologically driven dental therapies. Over the years, he has taught a wide range of dental
sciences courses, including Oral Biology, Oral Histology, Dental Anatomy, Oral Physiology,
and Advanced Oral Biology, engaging both undergraduate and postgraduate students under
various educational systems including modular, integrated, and credit-hour frameworks. His
teaching philosophy emphasizes conceptual understanding, clinical correlation, and student-
centered learning.
His international presence is highlighted through conferences, training programs, and research collaborations that connect the region with
global scientific communities.
Dr. Abdelfattah holds active memberships in several scientific and professional organizations,
reflecting his engagement in dental research and community service. His affiliations include the
International Association of Dental Research (IADR), Arab Foundation of Young
Scientists, Egyptian Clinical Dental Society (ECDS), College of General Dentists (UK),
Egyptian Association of Prosthetic and Restorative Dentistry (EAPRD),
Additionally, he is a Board Member and Media Spokesperson of the Egyptian Dental Union,
strengthening dental professional communication and public outreach within the community.
He has been invited as keynote speaker and presenter at major international scientific events,
including the University of Washington (USA, 2016), San Francisco (2017), London (2018),
Madrid (2018), and Paris (2019), discussing advancements in oral biology, regenerative
medicine, and innovative dental treatment approaches.
With over 20 scientific publications and multiple ongoing research projects, his work
contributes to the development of regenerative approaches in dentistry and interdisciplinary
research involving biotechnology, biomaterials, and stem-cell applications.
